Biblical Hebrew 101

hebrew

Just started my Hebrew class yesterday.

First impression: Much harder than Greek! But that’s perhaps because we already know, more or less, how to read the Greek alphabet from our maths/physics/chemistry classes. On the other hand, as an Indonesian, we already know some of the Hebrew words through its cousin, Arabic language.

Anyway, this is how to write my name in Hebrew: שפטין. Similar to Arabic, you need to read this from right to left. It’s going to be fun!
