Of duties and rights

Just noticed this a few days ago:

“Hendaklah suami memenuhi kewajiban [seksual]-nya terhadap isterinya, demikian pula isteri terhadap suaminya.” (1 Kor 7.3 ITB)

“The husband should give to his wife her conjugal rights, and likewise the wife to her husband.” (1 Cor 7.3 ESV)

(Check out other translations and they will either make it as a duty or as a right. Partly, but not totally, it is a matter of cultural difference. Indonesian translations construe it more as a duty, while English translations are slightly tilted to portray it as a right. And, anyway, no matter how you see it, at least we could agree that perhaps the most important word in the sentence is the little word “likewise”, as it indicates how Paul upholds mutuality in marital relationship.)

So, is it a conjugal right or a marital duty? What difference does it make?
