Knowledge to elevate? Not this time

I’m all for criticisms and reforms, but it is sad to see that even Metro TV has gone to the dark side of provocative and tendentious journalism. To suggest that Indonesia might be similar with Tunisia and Egypt now is bullshit. I realize that there is no such thing as unbiased reporting, but it is another thing when you nakedly exhibit your political agenda.

Surely we lack civility and truthfulness in Indonesian public discourse.

(I like to think of media as a kind of secular prophetic voice in liberal democracy, but I guess that’s why you have false prophets and true prophets. Not to mention that the false prophets could greatly outnumber the true ones, as what is the case with Elijah, and, perhaps, in Indonesia.)
