John Barclay and a proposal for a Christian food taboo

Speaking about food (the topic discussed in today’s young adults fellowship in my church, in case you wonder), in the recent issue of Expository Times, John Barclay (a professor at Durham University) argued from a Pauline principle (in short, who was willing to give up his rights for the sake of others, e.g., 1 Cor 9) that Christians have a responsibility to greatly reduce our consumption of meat in the light of global warming and food crisis.

(Another cognitive dissonance is noted, since I am practically a carnivore.)
