Relating to our crucified Lord

I prayed for and believe in a relationship that would image, albeit very faintly, the relationship between Christ and his church.

Characterized not by perfection, but by brokenness yet forgiven.

Not by domination, but by sacrifice and mutual service.

Not by self-seeking and self-pleasing, but by self-giving and self-denial.

Not by the empty peace of Rome, but by the way of the cross.

And God has answered my prayer.

Thank God.
