Unclean, unclean

What should a ‘leper’ do?

He shall wear torn clothes, let his hair hang loose, cover his upper lip and cry out, “Unclean, unclean!”

Indeed, he shall remain unclean as long as he has the disease. He is unclean. He shall live alone.

And his dwelling shall be outside the camp (Lev 13.45-46).

The tent of meeting, which symbolized the physical presence of YHWH, was once set up outside the camp as well after the Israelites made a golden calf of themselves (Exo 33.7). It symbolized how YHWH was rejected by his own people.

Well, YHWH is not only the Rejected One, but he is also the One with the Rejected.

the one who is with those who are ‘outside the camp’ (in this case, the lepers).. i deliberately conflated the two passages, actually the tent of meeting was already inside the camp again on Lev 10 hehe.

the old perspective says septian is against the reformed. we can’t trust this perspective anymore. we need a new perspective. the question is not why is septian against the reformed, but what kind of relationship constitutes septian and the reformed.
