The Mosaic Paul

When Apostle Paul wrote that he wished that he himself “were accursed and cut off from Christ for the sake of my brothers, my kinsmen according to the flesh” (Rm 9.3), he echoed what Moses did back then when he pleaded on behalf of the Israelites after they built for themselves a golden calf, “Alas, this people has sinned a great sin. They have made for themselves gods of gold. But now, if you will forgive their sin–but if not, please blot me out of your book that you have written.” (Exo 32.31-32)
