The journey of Bart Ehrman was perhaps fated. He went from Moody Bible Institute (fundamentalist) to Wheaton College (evangelical) to Princeton Theological Seminary (mainline) before teaching now in the University of North Carolina at Chapel Hill (secular).
Though, ironically, I think he still retained his modernist worldview from the days of his youth. Was a fundamentalist then, still a fundamentalist now. Its only the matter of what kind of a fundamentalist he was then and is right now.
