Every community has its own culture and distinctives: rituals, habits, jargons, vocabularies, etc., and likewise for ISCF. Both of us are quite immersed in this community and it helps us in various ways. For example, it is not too awkward for us to use ‘KTB’ as a way to symbolize our relationship. And, naturally, KTB comes with its materials. Yesterday, we bought our bible study material in SKS and had our first bible study session later at night. We use a book from LifeGuide Bible Study series, which is published by, well, who else, InterVarsity Press, the publishing arm of InterVarsity Christian Fellowship. Studies in the book followed similar pattern as what we usually faced in KTB materials, which is organized according to inductive bible study steps: observation, interpretation, application. Yet another thing that both of us are familiar with and thankful for.
Looking at the pace that we did yesterday, I think we would only be able to finish the book in 1 year or so, although there are only 11 studies in the book. It was lovely, though. We learnt from the Word and got to know each other better as well. To do something you really enjoy to with someone you really love, well, is heavenly.
