the summons
Will you come and follow me? (The Summons)
Will you come and follow me if I but call your name?
Will you go where you don’t know and never be the same?
Will you let my love be shown? Will you let my name be known,
will you let my life be grown in you and you in me?
Will you leave yourself behind if I but call your name?
Will you care for cruel and kind and never be the same?
Will you risk the hostile stare should your life attract or scare?
Will you let me answer prayer in you and you in me?
Will you let the blinded see if I but call your name?
Will you set the prisoners free and never be the same?
Will you kiss the leper clean and do such as this unseen,
and admit to what I mean in you and you in me?
Will you love the “you” you hide if I but call your name?
Will you quell the fear inside and never be the same?
Will you use the faith you’ve found to reshape the world around,
through my sight and touch and sound in you and you in me?
Lord your summons echoes true when you but call my name.
Let me turn and follow you and never be the same.
In Your company I’ll go where Your love and footsteps show.
Thus I’ll move and live and grow in you and you in me.

COSC’08 Don’t tell me
Baru kembali dari cosc conference’08.
letih,
haru,
tegur,
api.

Don’t tell me
Helen Mottee
She reclines on her success
breathes in the harbour views
glances through the paper
so she can discuss the news
and the world’s in trouble everywhere
but she knows she can’t afford to care
She says, “Don’t tell me about the Burma refugees
just let me enjoy the harbour breeze
don’t tell me the orphan babies in Chiangmai
it’s too nice a day for me to cry
don’t wanna know what’s going on in Afghanistan
I’m a woman in Australia, I’ll never meet the Taliban
Life is good for me
I don’t wanna hear
I don’t wanna see.”
His is another empire grand
with all his labour carved on sand
questions settling on his days like dust
his mortality beckoning the moth and rust
and the world’s in trouble everywhere
but the world’s just not this man’s affair
He says, “Don’t tell me about the Burma refugees
let me enjoy my gin and tonic please
don’t tell me about Manila and the street kids’ eyes
cause all that’s on my mind is the next pay rise
don’t wanna know what’s going on in Afghanistan
and I thank God I’ll never meet the Taliban
Life is good for me
I don’t wanna hear
I don’t wanna see.”
This life’s been good to me
and the years their tale have spun
I am blessed and I am free
never had to stare down the barrel of a gun
but my world’s in trouble everywhere
can’t really say that I don’t care
cause now I’ve met the Burma refugees
and I need to do more than get on my knees
I’ve held an orphan baby in Chiangmai
and walked away trying not to cry
CNN took me to Afghanistan
I saw it through the eyes of the Taliban
My life is asking me
do you wanna hear?
do you wanna see?
don’t tell me about the Burma refugees
Just let me enjoy the harbour breeze
don’t tell me about the orphan babies in Chiangmai
It’s too nice a day for me to cry
don’t wanna know what’s going on in Afghanistan
I’m a woman in Australia, I’ll never meet the Taliban
Life is good for me
I don’t wanna hear
I don’t wanna see
Aurelia
(cucu Charles Wesley) Pencarian pun berlanjut.
- Another Year Is Dawning (Frances R Havergal)
- God Is My Strong Salvation (James Montgomery)
- I Lay My Sins on Jesus (Horatius Bonar)
- In Time of Tribulation
- O Father, All Creating
- O Father, You Are Sovereign
- O God, Thou Art the Father
- Remember Christ, Our Savior
- The Church’s One Foundation (Samuel J. Stone)
- Another Year Is Dawning (Frances Ridley Havergal, 1874)
- From Greenland’s Icy Mountains (Reginald Heber, 1819)
- God is My Strong Salvation (James Montgomery, 1822
- I Lay My Sins on Jesus (Horatius Bonar, 1843)
- Love Divine And Golden (John S. B. Monsell, 1857)
- O Jesus I Have Promised (John E. Bode, 1868)
- Rejoice, God’s pilgrim people (Marnie Barrell, 1997)
- The Church’s One Foundation (Samuel Stone, 1866)
=) Judulnya ‘O Jesus, I Have Promised.’ Berikut liriknya.
(btw, nada di halaman lagu ‘O Jesus, I Have Promised’ bukanlah nada Aurelia.

O Jesus, I Have Promised
Words: John E. Bode
O Jesus, I have promised to serve Thee to the end;
Be Thou forever near me, my Master and my Friend;
I shall not fear the battle if Thou art by my side,
Nor wander from the pathway if Thou wilt be my Guide.
O let me feel Thee near me! The world is ever near;
I see the sights that dazzle, the tempting sounds I hear;
My foes are ever near me, around me and within;
But Jesus, draw Thou nearer, and shield my soul from sin.
O let me hear Thee speaking in accents clear and still,
Above the storms of passion, the murmurs of self will.
O speak to reassure me, to hasten or control;
O speak, and make me listen, Thou Guardian of my soul.
O Jesus, Thou hast promised to all who follow Thee
That where Thou art in glory there shall Thy servant be.
And Jesus, I have promised to serve Thee to the end;
O give me grace to follow, my Master and my Friend.
O let me see Thy footprints, and in them plant mine own;
My hope to follow duly is in Thy strength alone.
O guide me, call me, draw me, uphold me to the end;
And then in Heaven receive me, my Savior and my Friend.

My hope to follow duly is in Thy strength alone! =)
Dua Himne
Pertama, How Deep The Father's Love for Us, karangan Stuart Townend.
How deep the Father's love for us,
How vast beyond all measure
That He should give His only Son
To make a wretch His treasureHow great the pain of searing loss,
The Father turns His face away
As wounds which mar the chosen One,
Bring many sons to gloryBehold the Man upon a cross,
My sin upon His shoulders
Ashamed I hear my mocking voice,
Call out among the scoffersIt was my sin that held Him there
Until it was accomplished
His dying breath has brought me life
I know that it is finishedI will not boast in anything
No gifts, no power, no wisdom
But I will boast in Jesus Christ
His death and resurrectionWhy should I gain from His reward?
I cannot give an answer
But this I know with all my heart
His wounds have paid my ransom
Kedua, And Can It Be that I Should Gain, karangan Charles Wesley. Versi MIDI-nya dapat didengar di sini.
And can it be that I should gain
An interest in the Savior’s blood?
Died He for me, who caused His pain—
For me, who Him to death pursued?
Amazing love! How can it be,
That Thou, my God, shouldst die for me?
Amazing love! How can it be,
That Thou, my God, shouldst die for me?’Tis mystery all: th’Immortal dies:
Who can explore His strange design?
In vain the firstborn seraph tries
To sound the depths of love divine.
’Tis mercy all! Let earth adore,
Let angel minds inquire no more.
’Tis mercy all! Let earth adore;
Let angel minds inquire no more.He left His Father’s throne above
So free, so infinite His grace—
Emptied Himself of all but love,
And bled for Adam’s helpless race:
’Tis mercy all, immense and free,
For O my God, it found out me!
’Tis mercy all, immense and free,
For O my God, it found out me!Long my imprisoned spirit lay,
Fast bound in sin and nature’s night;
Thine eye diffused a quickening ray—
I woke, the dungeon flamed with light;
My chains fell off, my heart was free,
I rose, went forth, and followed Thee.
My chains fell off, my heart was free,
I rose, went forth, and followed Thee.Still the small inward voice I hear,
That whispers all my sins forgiven;
Still the atoning blood is near,
That quenched the wrath of hostile Heaven.
I feel the life His wounds impart;
I feel the Savior in my heart.
I feel the life His wounds impart;
I feel the Savior in my heart.No condemnation now I dread;
Jesus, and all in Him, is mine;
Alive in Him, my living Head,
And clothed in righteousness divine,
Bold I approach th’eternal throne,
And claim the crown, through Christ my own.
Bold I approach th’eternal throne,
And claim the crown, through Christ my own.
As We Gather
As We Gather/Saat Kami Berkumpul
As we gather may Your Spirit works within us
As we gather may we glorify Your Name
Knowing well that as our hearts begin to worship
We’ll be glad because we came
We’ll be glad because we cameSaat kami berkumpul, RohMu bekerja
Ajar kami memuliakan NamaMu
Kala hati kami mulai menyembah
BerkatMu atas kami, Tuhan
BerkatMu atas kami
